CLAUDIO MAGRASSI

Claudio Magrassi is an Italian artist from Tortona (Italy). At the beginning of his career he studied ancient art and attended the atelier of Luigi Benedicenti.

From the beginning he chose oil on canvas, which is still his main technique today but alongside he uses also mixed techniques, for example liquids that flows all along the canvas changing the colours so making Magrassi’s paintings unique. The artist is not interested in representing a fake reality, but what he cares about is revealing the duplicity of the human soul with its lights and shadows. Often the result is figures that may seem caricatures, but in reality they are deeply alive subjects, representing the condition of contemporary human beings.

He currently collaborates with important galleries and some of his works belong to public and private collections.
