Born in 1946 in Trento, Chiarani currently resides there. His work is characterized by a coherent driven to capture a sense of presence. Starting with a simple splash of color, he skillfully creates his own figures with deliberate brushstrokes.

In his paintings Chiarani places greater emphasis on the unfinished, considering it more crucial compared to the completed appearance. Only the artist himself determines when a piece is truly finished.

Over the course of his long and illustrious career, Chiarani has won numerous awards. His works they are found in various public and private collections, both in Italy and abroad.
